Perhaps today you have a little extra time and about to call it a day. The following tips are five things that can be completed in just 15 minutes, in order to make your PC cleaner for tomorrow’s works.
- Take the trash out, It’s just like your home after a party, either you take the garbage out or your home is a huge toy box for your dog. Your PC is perhaps already littered with trash from today’s work and you don’t realize it yet. To empty your trash, just give a right click on your Recycle Bin icon and select Empty Recycle Bin option.
- Delete unneeded emails, Don’t close your email program yet. Check these three locations: Junk Email, Deleted Items and Sent Items. (These terms are used in Outlook, the names can be different in other email softwares.). Delete any spam emails and other unneeded emails.
- Delete unnecessary software, just go to Start>Control Panel>Programs and delete useless freewares and sharewares that you just downloaded and installed today. Also use CCleaner to eradicate any traces of uninstalled program from the registry.
- Delete the internet cache, the internet cache is a temporary storage of all files accessed recently from the internet. They are useful to speed up internet browsing, but if you have a fast internet connection, cache is just a waste of hard drive storage that may eat up to gigabytes of hard drive capacity if it is not cleaned for months. In Internet Explore just go to Tools>Internet Options>General tab and click Delete Files.
- Delete cookies, cookies are information that is stored after visiting a website. The most common informations stored are your username and password, but can also be your location and preferences. Cookies can become a breach in security if someone else is using your computer tonight. However, if you don’t mind to re-type username and password each morning, just erase cookies before you go home. In Internet Explore just go to Tools>Internet Options>General tab and click Delete Cookies.
